bouncehouse

I've decided that Heaven is probably a lot like Monkey Joe's in Castleton.
Let me clarify

Over the weekend, the munchkins got invited to a birthday party at Monkey Joe's. These places exist all over apparently - warehouse sized, Chuck E.Cheese-style party palaces; but this is the first time I've actually been inside one.
It was wall-to-wall bouncehouses. It was awesome. After about 15 minutes of moping about suffering from deep-seated envy, I throw caution (and my flip flops) to the wind and climbed in with Sophie. I have never laughed so hard. I bounced. I slid. I knocked over my four-year-old in my zeal for the next bounce. I might have become a bit of an addict.

If you haven't been, go. Seriously.
Beg, borrow or steal a kid so you have a legit. reason to attend, or call me. I'll go with you and you can claim one of my kids. I may make you buy him a hot dog, but even that's negotiable.
So, to recap:
Bounce Houses = Awesomeness
Multiple bounces + my bladder after three kids + no accidents = a flippin' miracle.

i feel a fiesta coming on...

a quickie entry, because i haven't blogged in ages.
girls night in tonight... it's a fiesta-inspired theme
i forget just how much i ache for the company of my girls until we finally set a date to get together. And then time drags like a bad b-movie slo-mo scene until I get to hear the laughter bouncing off the walls.

i love my girls.
more to come on that post-get-together

Catching You Unaware

Sometimes, for a split second, you are caught unaware by a memory so strong it burns.

Punk Rock Legs

i'm pretty sure i didn't have this much personality when i was her age.
i wonder how much effect what i do now to my kids has on their little psyches.
am i setting her up for a lifetime of rebellion or of independent thought by putting her in little skull&crossbones babylegs... or am i overthinking this?
Either way. This kid rocks.
And right now, i'm taking all the credit!

enough

i've started to wonder if my self-esteem will ever recover
or if, instead, i'll always be convinced that i'm not enough
not good enough
not available enough
not confident enough
not funny enough
not open enough
not sure enough
no enough

...

there's gotta be a pill that fixes this.
there's a pill for everything else...
